VietNamNet Bridge – There are no Vietnamese players left in the Viet Nam F2 Futures Pro Circuit as Viet Nam's only representative, Ly Hoang Nam, was knocked out yesterday, April 3, by French Laurent Recouderc in the second round.
Ly Hoang Nam.
Nam, who thrashed his compatriot Le Quoc Khanh in the first round, could only cause some trouble for Recouderc, who won the Viet Nam F1 Futures in Bac Lieu last week, before surrendering the match 6-3, 6-2.
Nam started the first set very well and had three break points in the first game of the match but Recouderc won four points in a row to win the game.
In the rest of the set, sixth seed Recouderc proved too strong for the Vietnamese 16-year-old and pushed him very hard on the court.
Nam wowed the supporters on some occasions during the set but he could not show enough strength to close the gap on his 29-year-old opponent, who got two break points to claim the first set at 6-2.
The second set was an easier task for Recourderc with Nam clearly fading out as a result of the blistering midday heat in HCM City and from his hard work in the first set. Nam quickly surrendered the set at 6-2.
