The Standing Committee of the 13th National Assembly will convene its 35th session in Hanoi on February 25, scheduled to give comments on a plan on investment and construction of international Long Thanh airport.

During the three-day sitting, which comes freshly after the nine-day-long Tet holidays, the legislators will devote a lot of time tackling differing views on the law on the election of deputies to the National Assembly and the People’s Council; the law on natural resources, maritime environment and islands; and the revised law on state budget, among others.

They will also look into a plan to allocate Government bond-sourced standby capital in the 2011-2015 period.

At its 34th session, the Standing Committee spent time examining preparations for the upcoming 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132), which is scheduled for March in Hanoi.

IPU-132 is expected to greet delegates from more than 160 countries around the world.
