National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed his hope that the new Chinese ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong make use of his new working term in Vietnam to undertake efforts to boost the comprehensive cooperation between the parties, states and peoples.
During the reception for Ambassador Hong on September 10, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam attached great importance to the ties of friendship, neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation with China.
NA Chairman Hung asked the Chinese ambassador to convey his greetings to the National People’s Congress Chairman Zhang Dejiang and extend the invitation to him to attend the 132 nd Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union to be held in Hanoi in 2015.
With regard to Vietnam-China relations, NA Chairman Hung said that in the face of the disputes in the East Sea, the recent China visit of the Party General Secretary’s Special Envoy, Politburo member Le Hong Anh, had contributed to the consolidation of mutual trust and the development of cooperation in the spirit of the common vision of the two countries’ leaders. The Chairman expressed his hope that the two countries would continue to foster collaborations in all areas without complicating the situation further. All disputes should be solved in the spirit of comradeship and fraternity, Hung added.
For his part, Ambassador Hong thanked the NA chairman for hosting the meeting and said he would do his utmost to ensure the strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China continue to develop in the interests of the two countries.
Ambassador Hong agreed that Politburo member Le Hong Anh’s recent visit to China had played an important role in boosting bilateral cooperation between China and Vietnam on common issues, and promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region. He also said that in his capacity as ambassador he would contribute to the promotion of cooperation between the two national assemblies, thus consolidating mutual trust between the two parties and states.
