VietNamNet Bridge - A conflict exists between the protection of fishery resources and the development of tourism and other business fields.

Coral reefs have been damaged and are full of waste, and the number of fish decreasing due to poaching at the Hon Mun marine protected area (MPA) in Nha Trang Bay in Khanh Hoa province. The MPA is covered by the Heritage Law.

If state management agencies approve a plan to sink 1.5 million cubic meters of waste sludge into waters, the waste will destroy the entire biological and physical circle of a vast sea area.
