The performance will benefit from the amazing voices of internationally renowned Norwegian opera singers, including tenor Magnus Staveland, baritone Halvor F. Melien and soprano Hege G. Tjonn. Talented Vietnamese soloists Ngoc Tuyen and Thu Huong and Duy Linh are also on the playbill.

The singers are to be accompanied by musicians from the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) under the baton of Norwegian maestro Magnus Loddgard.

The Magic Flute was composed and conducted by Mozart in 1791, just two months before his death. Through the love story between Prince Tamino and Princess Pamina, the work explores man’s search for love and his struggle to attain wisdom and virtue.

Since its premier in 1791 at Emanuel Schikaneder's theater in Vienna, the opera has been staged in prestigious opera houses around the world. It was first performed in Hanoi by artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music in 2006.

Tickets to the concert are priced from VND400,000 to VND650,000 and can be obtained at the HBSO Office at 7 Lam Son Square, Ben Nghe ward, District 1.
