On April 11, a motorbike license plate bearing the striking number 50AA-666.66 from Ho Chi Minh City was successfully auctioned for over VND 2 billion (approximately USD 80,000).

A total of 525 motorbike plates were sold during the day, bringing in nearly VND 12 billion (USD 480,000).

According to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, 60,000 license plates for cars and motorbikes were listed for auction on April 11.

The standout of the day was the license plate 50AA-666.66, dubbed the "quintuple 6" plate. Just four minutes into the bidding session, offers had already surpassed VND 1 billion. The final winning bid was VND 2.002 billion (approximately USD 80,000).

In total, 525 motorbike license plates were auctioned successfully, raising nearly VND 12 billion (USD 480,000). Additionally, around 400 car license plates were sold, generating over VND 37 billion (USD 1.48 million).

Over the four days of license plate auctions, the highest bids were consistently for plates registered in Ho Chi Minh City. Among them: 50AA-999.99 fetched VND 2.68 billion (USD 107,000), while 50AA-688.88 went for VND 503 million (USD 20,100).

Notably, high bids also came from other provinces and cities, including 15AA-567.89 from Hai Phong (VND 393.5 million), 20AA-333.33 from Thai Nguyen (VND 375.5 million), 29AC-688.88 from Hanoi (VND 253.5 million), and 99AA-199.99 from Bac Ninh (VND 206 million).

This sixth round of license plate auctions, which began on April 8, features more than 2.18 million license plates, including over 1.55 million for motorbikes and about 624,000 for cars.
