The books, which are 30cm long and 25cm wide, were written and printed in Chinese-transcribed Vietnamese on do material (a kind of wood used to make paper). Research has shown that these documents date back to the Nguyen dynasty and are about the creation and order of the universe, human life, literature, medicine and rituals accompanied with handmade drawings.

This is the first time such a large number of books in Chinese and Chinese-transcribed Vietnamese have been found in Ha Tinh. The documents are of great value in terms of history, culture, archaeology, ethnology and linguistics.
