Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, an official of the MoCST’s Department of International Cooperation, said this morning, April 1, that Jennifer Pham is an American citizen but according to the regulations, Vietnam’s Tourism Ambassador can be a foreigner.

So far, the Department of International Cooperation has received applications of Miss Tourism Huynh Thi Ngoc Han, English teacher Do Thi Hong Thuan, Miss Southeast Asia 2012 Dieu Han and the first-runner up of Miss Asia USA 2012 Chau Mong Nhu.

According to Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, today, April1, the MoCST is making final decision on the withdrawal of actress Ly Nha Ky and the extension of the deadline for receiving applications for the Ambassador of Tourism candidacy.

Earlier, when the focus was directed to the three candidates for the position of Tourism Ambassador 2013 - Ly Nha Ky, Huynh Thi Ngoc Han, Do Thi Hong Thuan – the most potential candidate Ly Nha Ky unexpectedly withdrew. The reason for the actress-businesswoman’s withdrawal is health and feeling tired of bad rumors about her private life.

Immediately after Ly Nha Ky’s withdrawal, some new candidates have appeared, including actress Lan Phuong, Miss Southeast Asia Dieu Han, the first runner-up of Miss Asia USA Chau Mong Nhu and now Miss Asia USA 2006 Jennifer Pham.

Jennifer Pham’s birth name is Pham Vu Phuong Hoang. She was born in 1985 in Ho Chi Minh City. In 1988, she followed her parents to the USA and lived in Orange County, California. She studied medicine at the University of California in Irvine, and also studied psychology. She has returned to Vietnam to join the showbiz. She is now a famous MC in Vietnam.
