
Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy has issued a decision outlining the responsibilities of the ministry's deputy ministers.
According to the decision, Minister Do Duc Duy holds overall leadership and management of all ministry activities, in accordance with its functions, duties, and authority.
Responsibilities of the deputy ministers
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep oversees water resources, disaster prevention, and general planning and investment tasks, including gender equality and women's advancement. He also assists the minister in anti-corruption, anti-waste, and misconduct efforts while supervising the Central Highlands provinces: Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Lam Dong.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa is responsible for surveying, mapping, remote sensing, and overseeing awards and commendations. She also handles personnel training, rehabilitation, public outreach, and democracy implementation. Hoa assists in managing organizational structure, staffing, and complaint resolution and supervises Red River Delta provinces: Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, and Quang Ninh.
Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam manages agricultural, forestry, and fisheries quality control, food safety, market development, and the salt industry. He also leads rural development initiatives and the national One Commune One Product (OCOP) program. Nam supervises the Mekong Delta provinces: Can Tho, Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, An Giang, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau.
Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien is responsible for geology, minerals, IT, and digital transformation, overseeing the northern midland and mountainous provinces: Lang Son, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, and Hoa Binh.
Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh oversees environmental protection, meteorology, and climate change, monitoring southeastern provinces: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, and Tay Ninh.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien handles fisheries, animal husbandry, veterinary affairs, and maritime rescue operations. He also oversees scientific research, media, and journalism, covering the south-central provinces: Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan.
Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan supervises land management, water resources, and maritime and island affairs, including asset management within the ministry. He is responsible for the north-central provinces: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri manages forestry, conservation, and biodiversity protection, overseeing northern midland and mountainous provinces: Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai.
Deputy Minister Hoang Trung oversees crop production, plant protection, agricultural restructuring, international cooperation, and state-owned enterprises under the ministry. He supervises Red River Delta provinces: Hanoi, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, and Ninh Binh.
Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung handles legal affairs, administrative reform, rural economic development, and cooperative farming. He also oversees agricultural vocational training, rural insurance, and investment environment improvement.
