Two major fire accidents took place at Nam Trung Yen urban area near Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower and Quang Minh industrial zone in Hanoi’s outlying district of Me Linh.

The fire broke out at bloc E5 in Nam Trung Yen urban area in Hanoi’s Cau Giay inner district at around 10.20pm on October 18, burning down several kiosks and destroying a  garage opposite Keangnam Tower.

Preliminary report said a big explosion occurred at a garage near Nam Trung Yen primary school, causing intense flame that quickly spread to nearby kiosks.

Hundreds of firefighters were mobilized at the scene to control the firel.

The same day, all of the assets of Woodsland Company 's warehouse 2 which specializes in furniture manufacturing exports and a plant of Nippon Express Co. Vietnam in Quang Minh IZ were virtually destroyed by fire.

Witnesses said the flame stirring up dozens of metres ruined a plant covering thousands of square metres of Woodsland firm.

Tens of fire engines and hundreds of fire fighters were sent to Quang Minh IZ to join rescue efforts that took hours to put out the blaze.

Earlier on October 17, a huge explosion happened at a manufacturing company in District 12 of Ho Chi Minh City, killing one, leaving two missing, and destroying seven houses.
