The Long Bien Marathon 2018 will take place on October 28 in Long Bien District sports centre.

The race will attract an estimated 2,500 participants from 25 countries. It will include 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km races with beautiful routes through high class residences and scenic rice paddies. Courses will be closed to traffic to ensure safety for runners. 

Runners can use the results of this race to qualify for international races such as the Boston Marathon.

This is the only marathon in northern Viet Nam that is an official International Association of Athletics Federations – Association of International Marathons event.

The not-for-profit event aims to connect communities and build awareness of running. It will also support the Long Biên Fund for Challenged Households. — VNS
