Police in Quynh Luu District on Wednesday issued the fine to the 30-year-old man for sharing "inaccurate content" that violates organisations' reputation.
At a meeting with the police, the man said that he had made inaccurate comments after reading a Facebook post on the attacks. He admitted his offense.
Earlier on Tuesday, five other men including one in Quang Nam Province, one in Nha Trang city, and three in Ha Tinh Province were also fined a total of VND35.50 million for the same violation.
The Nha Trang man told the police that he was often on social media groups on politics that spread inaccurate information, resulting in his distorted perception.
Earlier on Sunday morning, an unidentified group of individuals used guns to attack the headquarters of two people's committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes in Cu Kuin District, killing nine people, including four police officers, two commune officials and three local residents. Two other police officers were seriously injured.
