VietNamNet Bridge – Officers from the Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security on Saturday arrested Truong Duy Nhat on the charge of "abusing rights to democracy and freedom to infringe the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organisations and citizens".

A search of the man's house at 25 Tong Phuoc Pho Street, Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District in the central city of Da Nang was carried out on the same day in co-ordination with the Da Nang municipal police.

The search of Nhat's house and his arrest were pursuant to Article 258 of the Penal Code of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Relevant agencies are conducting further investigations into the case.
