Assistant to the Foreign Minister, Vu Quang Minh, and Deputy Secretary of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry, Dato Muhammad Sharulkram Yaakob, co-chaired the Vietnam-Malaysia Senior Officials’ Strategic Dialogue in Hanoi on April 4.

The two sides discussed ways to boost the strategic partnership in the future and increase delegation exchanges.  

They are to hold the 5th session of the Vietnam-Malaysia Committee for Bilateral Cooperation in Economics, Science and Technology in 2016 and target lifting two-way trade to US$15 billion by 2020.

Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening unity within ASEAN and maintaining its central role.

They underlined the need to ensure peace, stability, security and safety of navigation and aviation in the East Sea and settle disputes in line with international law.
