The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to shift the venue for the Vietnam-Malaysia clash to the Shah Alam City Stadium in Selangor, some 60km from Kuala Lumpur.
According to Secretary-general of FAM Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, the decision was made after the National Stadium's pitch was reviewed and assessed to be not ready for use in a competitive game.
The Vietnamese national team arrived in Malaysia yesterday, three days ahead of their AFF Cup semi-final first leg match this weekend.
Vietnam's coach Toshyia Miura and his players have two days to practise and get familiar with the stadium as well as the hot weather, which is very different from the cool atmosphere of Hanoi.
The match will be live aired on VTV6 and Fox Sports channels from 7pm Hanoi time.
