The Politburo has issued Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. This resolution outlines guiding principles, objectives for 2030, a vision for 2045, and sets forth seven task groups to help the country develop rapidly and sustainably.

Responding to the Politburo's call, the sixth Make in Vietnam Forum saw many Vietnamese digital tech firms making strong commitments on leading the country to the new era, the era of nation’s rise.

Viettel Group has set ambitious business goals in telecommunications and semiconductors.

Its president Tao Duc Thang said Viettel aims to have advanced 5G equipment, alongside a core transmission network ecosystem for 5G by 2027, facilitating faster and more accurate connections, serving digital transformation.

“Our goal is to commercially offer the first 6G devices by 2030," he said.

Viettel also plans to establish a semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in Vietnam by 2030, as well as research and develop small-scale low Earth orbit satellites.

Meanwhile, VNPT Group has committed to mastering a Vietnamese-language Gen AI model by 2027, striving for an LLM (large language model) with 100 billion parameters with superior understanding about Vietnamese culture, history, and geography, and addressing major Vietnamese issues.

VNPT also aims to develop digital twins for cities, including 3D national digital map and IoT connectivity platform. VNPT’s CEO Huynh Quang Liem said in 2025, VNPT will continue developing smart operation centers in ministries, branches, and localities to “turn all government agency software online".

As for FPT, its president Truong Gia Binh said the company strives to become a digital technology corporation of international stature with overseas revenue of $5 billion by 2030.

“We will train 10,000 semiconductor engineers, 50,000 AI engineers and provide knowledge and skills on AI to 500,000 IT engineers by 2030,” Binh said.

Meanwhile, president of CMC Nguyen Trung Chinh has vowed to build its cloud computing platform – CMC Cloud – into the leading platform in Vietnam with capacity of 80MW by 2028.

CMC aims to create a Viet AI (or C-Open AI) knowledge platform, pledging to develop virtual assistants for officials, employees, and citizens in the legal sector.

Lu Thanh Long, Chairman of MISA, committed to investing VND 2,500 billion in the next five years to develop a specialized AI LLM language model for editing legal documents, accounting, tax, and business management.

One Mount, as informed by its CEO Nguyen Thi Diu, pledged to invest $200-500 million to master technology and deploy a Make in Vietnam blockchain network, and building blockchain infrastructure for management agencies, businesses, and citizens.

Vietjet, the first private airline in Vietnam owned by dollar billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, has proposed investing heavily in Blockchain technology. The airline will engage in extensive cooperation with domestic and international partners in digital transformation, inspiring employees and partners to jointly fulfill the mission of national development.

With strong commitments and long-term visions of leading digital technology firms, Vietnam now has a great opportunity to make a major leap forward in scientific and technological development, innovation, and digital transformation.

This not only enhances the nation's competitiveness but also lays a solid foundation for sustainable and prosperous development in the future.
