At the meeting of the management board of the Vietnam Professional Football JSC (VPF) – the runner of V-Leage and First Division Tournament - in HCM City yesterday, Mr. Tran Duy Ly expressed his wish to withdraw from the V-League organizing board. The board voted to approve Ly’s proposal.

VPF Chairman Vo Quoc Thang said VPF will find a suitable job for Ly to promote his experiences. The chief organizer of the First Division Tournament Nguyen Huu Bang also withdrew from the post.

Ly said he was quite happy and relieved to make the above decision. He said: "This is the transfer and continuation of generations to make football better.''

VPF CEO Pham Ngoc Vien is believed to assume Ly’s position in the next season.

The VPF board meeting had the presence of seven out of eight members. Vice President Doan Nguyen Duc was absent since he was busy in an overseas trip. Duc authorized President Vo Quoc Thang to vote for him.

Tran Duy Ly served as chief organizer of professional football leagues in Vietnam in 2002-2004. In the 2012-2013 season, a lot of scandals occurred for the V-League, affecting Ly’s prestige.
