Ly Hoang Nam will lead Vietnam in the second round of the Davis Cup’s Group II Asia-Oceania against Thailand on July 15-17 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.

Vietnam won their first round tie against Indonesia 3-2 and Thailand defeated Sri Lanka 3-2.
Apart from world No 872 seed Nam, the Vietnamese team includes national champion Pham Minh Tuan, runner-up Nguyen Hoang Thien and young star Nguyen Dac Tien, who just won a U18 ITF title last month.
Vietnam is world No 60 while Thailand is world No 46.
The host nation called up Pruchya Asarow, No 812, and Puriwat Chatpatcharoen, No 813, to complete in the single matches, along with twins Sanchai Ratiwatana and Sonchat Ratiwatana, who rank No 107 in the men’s doubles ranking.
The two nations have met four times and each team has won twice.
The Vietnam team, under captain Truong Quoc Bao, will arrive in Nonthaburi on July 9. They have some days scheduled for practice before battling with the hosts.
The winner will advance to the final where they will compete against the winner of the match between the Philippines and Chinese Taipei.
The two finalists will also seal their berths to play in Group I next year.
