The ban was announced by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) on Friday. In addition, Nam will not be called up to the national team from now to the end of the year.

With this decision, Nam will not be attending the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea this year. However, he can still take part in tournaments abroad.

Ly Hoang Nam is the first Vietnamese to enter the top 50 of ITF junior ranking, which was announced in late March.

Nam’s coach, Tran Duc Quynh, is also banned from all activities related to professional tennis in the territory of Vietnam for two years, starting from May 1, for his student's absence from the national team.

The VTF is seeking talented players to add to the national team to prepare for the 17th Asian Games and the Fed Cup, Davis Cup and SEA Games 28 in 2015.
