VietNamNet Bridge - Four babies in the quintuplets born at HCM City’s Tu Du Hospital no longer live in the incubator. Doctors said the health conditions of the remaining baby, weighing 1.3 kg, who suffered from severe respiratory failure a few days ago, was also improved.

Family of the quintuplets faces a lot of difficulties 

One of the five children suffered from severe respiratory failure. Four of them are now with their mum. The babies’ health is stable. 

The mother, Mrs. Thu, said the babies suckled well but she did not have enough mother milk so the babies were fed with specialized milk for preterm infants.

Both the maternal and paternal grandmothers were at the hospital to support child care. "We have to take turns. Sometimes both of us had to spend all night with the babies," the maternal grandmother said.

The paternal grandmother said from March 28, the babies' father had to return to work as a taxi driver. "Looking at the healthy children we are very happy. But in the future, their father will have to struggle for living," she said.

The youngest girl weighing 1.3 kg suffered from respiratory distress and now she needs special care.

The baby girl weighing 1.8 kg at birth is the sister of the remaining two babies.

The remaining baby, weighing 1.3 kg, will leave the incubator very soon.
