Tech expert Sonny Dickson, known for reliable Apple leaks, recently shared images of dummy units representing the iPhone 17 series, expected to launch in September 2025.
These dummy models are created based on leaked design schematics and CAD files, allowing accessory manufacturers to prepare cases and accessories ahead of the official release.
The images confirm several key design elements. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max both feature an elongated rectangular camera bump that houses three lenses, an LED flash, and a microphone.
The iPhone 17 Air has a similar camera bump but contains only a single lens. The standard iPhone 17 appears to retain a design similar to its predecessor, the iPhone 16.
Based on multiple leaks, renders, and CAD files, these designs closely align with previous reports, suggesting they are highly accurate.

One of the biggest revelations from these dummy models is the confirmation of two features on the iPhone 17 Air that had not been previously mentioned.
The first is MagSafe support. Earlier rumors suggested that due to its ultra-thin design, the iPhone 17 Air might not support MagSafe.
However, the dummy model confirms that MagSafe will still be present, ensuring compatibility with wireless charging and magnetic accessories.
The second is the Action button, which will replace the traditional mute switch. This aligns with Apple's transition to Action buttons, first seen on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
This leak provides the first solid evidence confirming the Action button on the iPhone 17 Air.

A previous report also suggested that the iPhone 17 Air might introduce a Camera Control button, and the latest dummy models appear to support this claim.
When placed side by side, the iPhone 17 Air appears significantly thinner than the other three iPhone 17 models, reinforcing speculation about its ultra-thin form factor.
According to MacRumors, the iPhone 17 Air will feature an aluminum frame instead of the titanium used in Pro models.
Its thickness is expected to be around 6mm, with some reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggesting it could be as thin as 5.5mm at its slimmest point.
If accurate, this would make the iPhone 17 Air the thinnest iPhone ever, even slimmer than the iPhone 6, which measured 6.9mm in 2014.
Compared to recent models, the iPhone 17 Air would be 30 percent thinner than the iPhone 16, which measures 7.8mm, and 33 percent thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro, which measures 8.25mm.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 series in September, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air.
There are conflicting reports regarding iPhone 17 Air’s pricing. The Information suggests it may be more expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which starts at $1,199.
Analyst Jeff Pu believes it will replace the Plus variant, positioning it as a mid-range iPhone. A separate report from China indicates that the iPhone 17 Air’s price could match the iPhone 16 Plus, which starts at $899 in the U.S.
With months left before Apple’s official announcement, further leaks and pricing details are expected to emerge.
