In HCM City, the rapid chess content of the National Rapid - Blitz Chess Championship 2013 identified the new champion on April 30 and the winner is the top chess player of Vietnam - Le Quang Liem.
To win the championship, Le Quang Liem won nine games and had two draws. Liem’s rivals in the last games are candidates for the championship such as Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and Nguyen Duc Hoa. The two players who drew the game with Quang Liem are Nguyen Van Huy and Le Tuan Minh of Hanoi.
Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son ranked second, with 8.5 points after 11 games. Nguyen Duc Hoa came third after being defeated by both Liem and Son.
In the women's singles, players from the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho dominated the medal tally. The most unexpected thing is the victory of the new champion Nguyen Bich Ngoc of Can Tho with 10 points after 11 games.
In particular, Bich Ngoc defeated her teammate Pham Le Thao Nguyen, who is considered the top female chess player of Vietnam. After this failure, Thao Nguyen slipped to the third place, receiving the bronze medal.

In the rapid chess content, the players played 11 games in the Swiss system with 15 minutes for a game plus 10 seconds per move from the first move.
Players are competing in the blitz chess content. In this category, they play 13 games in which each player has 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move from the first move. The competition will end on May 3.
