Chinese ships recently interfered and fired high-power water cannons at a Vietnamese ship, injuring a number of fisheries surveillance staff and destroying equipment.

Whenever the Vietnam coast guard attempts to access the illegally positioned Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig, Chinese ships stop them.

Despite being attacked, Vietnamese law enforcement forces are continuing to protect the country’s national sovereignty.
