Beyond its sacred worship areas, the pagoda features a stunning check-in space with unique photography spots, earning it the nickname "little Japan in Hai Phong."

A blend of tradition and modern aesthetics

Recognized as a historical resistance relic by Hai Phong authorities in 2004, Kim Thien Pagoda is not only a place of worship but also a scenic retreat that attracts visitors, especially during the Lunar New Year season.

Covering an area of over 3,000 square meters, the pagoda is divided into two distinct sections. The front area houses the main worship halls, showcasing Nguyen Dynasty architecture from the early 20th century, featuring a three-compartment forecourt and a main Buddha hall.

The rear area consists of a Zen garden and guesthouse, designed to offer visitors a peaceful retreat with breathtaking photo opportunities. This tranquil space has become a beloved check-in location for travelers exploring Kim Thien Pagoda.

A serene retreat inspired by Japanese aesthetics

During his visit after the Lunar New Year, Nguyen Manh Hung, a Hai Phong native, was captivated by the serene beauty of the Zen garden.

He noted that the monks and nuns had carefully designed and curated the space, adding various decorative elements to enhance the ambiance.

These features include earthen walls, wooden houses, a tea ceremony corner, a small bridge, and a koi fish pond, all of which contribute to the traditional Japanese aesthetic.

Hung shared that the monks and nuns warmly welcome visitors, encouraging them to explore and capture the beauty of the Zen garden.

However, as the pagoda is a spiritual and cultural heritage site, visitors are reminded to dress modestly, speak softly, and respect the sanctity of the space.
