In the early hours of December 6 (Vietnam time), runner-up Bui Khanh Linh showcased the "Thien Hac" (Heavenly Crane) costume during the National Costume segment of Miss Intercontinental 2024.
The costume, a fusion of art and culture, was designed by Le Thi Kim Dung with support from fashion designer Dang Trong Minh Chau.
Bui Khanh Linh confidently strode across the outdoor stage at Miss Intercontinental, donning the intricate and majestic "Thien Hac" ensemble. The costume had been adjusted to feature lightweight wings, enabling her to move with ease.
This year’s National Costume segment required contestants to personally introduce their outfits. Bui Khanh Linh began with a warm "Xin chao" (hello) and eloquently explained the meaning of her costume in English, concluding her presentation with a powerful shout of "Vietnam!"
The "Heavenly Crane" costume symbolizes longevity, wisdom, and refined beauty in East Asian culture. Its design intricately captures the elegance and cultural depth it represents.
After her performance, Khanh Linh expressed feeling chills of excitement as she presented her nation’s culture on the global stage. She also extended heartfelt thanks to her supporters in Vietnam, many of whom stayed up past 2 a.m. to cheer her on.
Khanh Linh’s performance not only highlighted her individual talent but also amplified the cultural values of Vietnam. The Miss Intercontinental 2024 grand finale is scheduled for the early hours of December 7 (Vietnam time).
