Speaking with VietNamNet on the afternoon of April 10, Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak People’s Committee, confirmed that he had signed the decision to penalize ASIA LIFE Joint Stock Company, located at 18/99 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Ea Tu Commune, Buon Ma Thuot City. In addition to the financial penalty, more than 4,000 of the company’s products will be destroyed.

The violations included failure to properly monitor temperature and humidity levels for raw materials and products in storage areas. Although the company was required to establish and implement a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system, they did not fully apply it in practice.

ASIA LIFE also produced self-declared products that failed to meet declared standards and sold food products containing additives beyond approved specifications. The total value of the non-compliant goods exceeded 67.5 million VND (around 2,700 USD).

As a result, the provincial authorities decided to impose a fine of more than 224 million VND and suspend all of the company’s food production activities for two months.

In addition, authorities ordered the recall and destruction of 4,080 units of "SUPERGREENS GUMMIES" (Kera vegetable candy) due to non-compliance with declared product standards.

On March 7, following a directive from the Vietnam Food Administration under the Ministry of Health, the Dak Lak Department of Health formed an inspection team to review ASIA LIFE's compliance with food safety laws. The inspection covered legal documentation, facility and personnel conditions, production processes, traceability of ingredients and additives, and packaging declarations.

Inspection Team 229 collected one 96g sample of SUPERGREENS GUMMIES produced by the company and sent it to the National Institute for Food Safety Testing for quality assessment.

In connection with the case, on April 3, the Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Investigation Agency issued decisions to prosecute and detain five individuals, along with warrants to search their residences and workplaces, for allegedly producing counterfeit food and deceiving consumers.

The prosecuted and detained individuals include:

Nguyen Phong, born November 14, 1986, Chairman of ASIA LIFE Joint Stock Company, residing in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak.

Le Tuan Linh, born February 19, 1989, CEO and legal representative of Chị Em Rot Group, residing in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

Le Thanh Cong, born June 6, 1989, Board Member of Chị Em Rot Group.

Pham Quang Linh (also known as Quang Linh Vlogs), born December 10, 1998, Board Member of Chị Em Rot Group, residing in Thu Duc City, originally from Nghe An.

Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (also known as Hang “Du Muc”), born August 3, 1995, Chairwoman of Chị Em Rot Group, from Vinh Phuc.

Following the investigation, authorities concluded that the individuals involved showed signs of violating Article 193 (producing counterfeit goods) and Article 198 (deceiving consumers) of the Penal Code.
