National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on September 16 announced the cancellation and delays of hundreds of flights as typhoon Kalmaegi makes its way towards Vietnam.
Four flights – VN1544/1545 from Hanoi to Hue, VN1560/1561 from Hanoi to Nha Trang, VN174/175 from Hanoi to Danang and VN278 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi – have been rescheduled to start two-three hours earlier.
Two flights VN834/835 on the Hanoi-Siem Reap route are also scheduled to take off 35 minutes earlier than schedule.
The schedules of four flights to Hanoi, including VN36 Frankfurt from Germany, VN64 Moscow from Russia, VN220 from Ho Chi Minh City and VN182 from Danang central City have been delayed from one-three hours later than originally scheduled.
Another six flights from and to Da Lat have been cancelled. Vietnam Airlines suggests that travellers from/to Hanoi and northern provinces should keep updated on information on typhoon Kalmaegi.
