Hanoi Brass Band was established in 1998 by some students of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, the present-day Vietnam National Academy of Music. In 2008, the band was officially named Hanoi Brass Band with some changes to the membership.

The band currently consists of six professionals from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the Military University of Culture and Arts, and the Brass Ensemble of Hanoi Department of Public Security. They play different instruments, including horn, trombone, tuba, trumpet and drums.

In addition to Hanoi Brass Band, flute and clarinet artists will also join the concert.

Particularly, a musical instrument repair technician from Japan’s Yamaha Corporation will give a brief introduction of brass and woodwind instruments played at the concert, focusing on their similarities as well as dissimilarities.

Free tickets are available at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, 27 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi from 12:00 on April 11.

Each person can get a maximum of two tickets.
