VietNamNet Bridge – After researching evidence sent by Vietnamese singer-songwriter Vu Cat Tuong, Japanese songwriter Marika Takeuchi has confirmed that it was only a coincidence that Tuong’s song “Traces of Rain” and her song “Rain in the Park” are similar.

In her email to the Vietnamese songwriter, Marika wrote: “I was able to find software that displays tha the MP3 was created on June 18 2013, as you claim. So it must have been a crazy coincidence that we wrote such similar music around the same time. Thank you for clearing up things quickly. I wish you the best in music and good luck fighting the backlash in the Vietnamese music industry”.

Previously, Vu Cat Tuong had said that the piano version by Marika Takeuchi was released on June 26th 2013 while Tuong sent her demo to musician Trong Nguyen on June 18th 2013. She sent the demo to the Japanese colleague as evidence.
