VietNamNet Bridge – The HCM City Union of Friendship Organizations awarded the For Peace and Friendship among Nations insignia to Japanese Consul General Hida Harumitsu for his contributions to strengthening Vietnam-Japan ties.
Starting his work in HCM City in 2010, the diplomat has participated in a variety of innovative activities in Vietnam, from culture to social affairs.
He has also been instrumental in supporting human resource development in Vietnam, and implementing humanitarian projects on health care, education, and public welfare in the city and southern provinces.
In particular, Hida Harumitsu organized a series of activities celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations between Japan – Vietnam, helping deepen mutual understanding and friendship.
In recent years, the friendship between Japan and Vietnam has seen continuous incremental improvement, he noted.
“I am fortunate to have been afforded the opportunity to visit HCM City and neighboring provinces during my term and discover that there are a vast number of people interested in Japan,” he said.
“”I love and consider Vietnam my second fatherland and I will always try my best to contribute to advancing friendship between our two countries”, he concluded.
