According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to launch iOS 19, which is being described as one of the most significant software overhauls in the company’s history.

The update is expected to introduce the biggest design changes seen in over a decade, making it Apple’s most radical iPhone update since iOS 7 in 2013.

Apple is also planning similar updates for Mac and iPad, with the goal of creating a more unified experience across all its platforms.

Bloomberg’s report suggests that iOS 19 will go beyond just a new design language and aesthetic tweaks. Instead, it will introduce a fundamental shift in how iPhones function and interact with users.

This time, Apple is planning to revamp icons, menus, apps, windows, and system controls, drawing inspiration from visionOS, the operating system for Apple Vision Pro.

The company’s goal is to create a consistent software experience across iPhone, Mac, and iPad, making Apple’s ecosystem feel even more seamless.

What to expect from iOS 19

So far, there are few concrete details on iOS 19’s specific design changes, new features, or other improvements. However, an earlier leak suggested that the Camera app will receive a major overhaul as part of the update.

Apple is expected to officially unveil iOS 19 at its annual WWDC event in June. Following months of beta testing, the update will likely be released in September, alongside the iPhone 17 lineup.
