On December 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Police in District 12 confirmed that they had cooperated with relevant authorities to locate two children reported missing by their families after being placed in the Quan Am orphanage on Nguyen Thi Bup Street, Hiep Thanh Ward.

According to prior reports, Ms. T. (31) and Ms. A. (33) had filed a missing persons report with the local police after they were unable to locate their children at Quan Am and suspected that the children had “gone missing.”

The two mothers had given birth in April and placed their children in the Quan Am orphanage since then. In early September, Ms. T. and Ms. A. visited the orphanage to see their children but were unable to do so, leading them to file missing reports with the police.

Following the reports, police collaborated with various agencies to inspect the Quan Am orphanage and interview those involved.

Representatives of Quan Am explained that the facility can care for a maximum of 33 children. Consequently, since August, they had placed the two children temporarily at the Thanh Nghiem Pagoda in Binh Phuoc Province.

Authorities have since returned the children to Quan Am orphanage, allowing their families to visit before handing the children back to their relatives.

Authorities are conducting a comprehensive review of Quan Am orphanage to address any potential violations.
