VietNamNet Bridge - The explosion occurred at about 9 am this morning, December 5 at a gas factory in Khai Son Industrial Park in Thuan Thanh District, Bac Ninh province.

The incident forced hundreds of workers who were working in the factory and local people to flee.

Witnesses said they suddenly heard a loud bang and then smoke rose. A tank with a capacity of several thousands of liters was thrown out. Many houses that are a few hundreds of meters far from the explosion had their glass windows broken.

Hundreds of people stood in front of the industrial zone waiting
for information about their relatives.




Police officers went to the scene immediately.




This is determined as a gas tank explosion, at the gas warehouse of An Duong
 Gas Company. Some workers were injured but the authorities have
not announced the official number.




Four fire trucks were sent to the scene. The fire was controlled at about 11.30am.

At the scene, there are hundreds of burnt gas tanks.









By 2pm, the fire was completely extinguished. Fortunately, no one was
 killed. The relevant agencies have blocked the site for investigation.
