VietNamNet Bridge – Up to 207 majors of 71 universities in Vietnam will not be allowed to recruit students in 2014 due to lack of permanent lecturers, according to a dispatch signed by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga.

Notably, most of the training majors of the Hanoi Stage and Cinema University will be suspended, including Drama Playwrights, Movie-TV Director, Electrical Engineering Technology, Cinema - Television Playwright, Photography, Film - Television Technology, Stage – Movie Design, and Theory and Criticism.

The well-known universities such as the Hanoi Pedagogical University will have to stop enrollment students for eight sectors, including civic education, art pedagogy, Information Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and Psychology.

The HCM City National University will have four majors suspended, including Oceanography, Spanish Language, Italian Language and Han Nom.

The Hanoi University also has four training fields suspended - Portuguese Language, Italian Language, Accounting, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture.

The Hue Conservatory will stop enrolment of students for four sectors: Music Conductor, Vocal, Music Pedagogy and Music Studies. The Finance Institute will not recruit students for Management Information System and the Thai Binh Medical University will not train the two majors of Nursing and Pharmacology.

The Ministry of Education and Training says that by December 31, 2015, if these universities have enough permanent lecturers for these majors, they will be allowed to resume these training fields, otherwise the Ministry would revoke its licenses for these majors.
