VietNamNet Bridge – Thua Thien-Hue Province has a plan afoot to bring Hue specialties to foreign markets.

Accordingly, as of 2015, Hue Spicy beef noodle soup (A zesty beef and rice noodle soup of which the broth is made of beef bone, fermented shrimp paste, lemongrass and dried chilly) will be one of the first specialties on sale overseas.
At least 6-8 Hue specialties will be selected as national records by 2020 and five of them will be launched on to foreign markets.
Phan Ngoc Tho, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that the plan aims to meet the demand of foreign and domestic market, uphold and promote Hue’s culture, and improve local people’s daily lives.
Previously, Hue Sour Shrimp and Hue Green Tea were granted a “collective brand” certificate.
Hue Spicy beef noodle soup was also officially recognized as an Asian dish by the Asian Record Organization.
