Hanoi and Hue, two renowned destinations in Vietnam, have been named among the top 50 cities with the most captivating cuisines in the world for 2024–2025, according to the prestigious magazine Taste Atlas.
Hue secured the 35th position with an average score of 4.53/5. Editors at Taste Atlas recommend visitors not miss iconic dishes such as bun bo (spicy beef noodle soup), nem lui (grilled pork skewers), and banh beo (steamed rice cakes) when visiting this former imperial capital.
Among the standout eateries in Hue highlighted by the culinary platform are Banh Ganh, Hong Mai, Huyen Anh, and Bun Bo Hue Ba Xuan.
Hanoi ranked 40th with an average score of 4.5/5. The magazine expressed particular admiration for the capital’s noodle-based dishes, including bun cha (grilled pork with rice noodles), bun rieu (crab noodle soup), and bun oc (snail noodle soup).
Beyond Hue and Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City also appeared in the rankings, landing in 56th place with an average score of 4.45. The southern metropolis was celebrated for its diverse culinary offerings, including banh mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwiches) and com tam (broken rice with grilled pork).
The top four spots on the list of the world's most enticing culinary cities for 2024–2025, as determined by Taste Atlas, were claimed by Italian cities: Naples, Milan, Bologna, and Florence.
The rankings are part of Taste Atlas' annual awards, which evaluate 100 culinary traditions worldwide. The selection process involves ratings from food critics, chefs, and connoisseurs across the globe.
