Da Nang also announced seven key projects to attract investment in the coming time, including: Lien Chieu Port development project; the complex of financial, commercial, entertainment, casino and high-class apartment buildings project; Danang Creative Space project; the International Trade Center project; the international hospital project; the nursing home project; and the International School Project.
Many investors and experts believe that the key for Da Nang to attract investment is high-quality human resources.
Mr. Lee Jong Wook, Director of the Solution Development Center for Automotive Components of LG in Da Nang, said that in the near future, many information technology companies will invest in Da Nang. The demand for high-tech parks to stabilize human resources and develop new projects is essential.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation Truong Gia Binh acknowledged that Da Nang has many good conditions in the digital era, including a young and abundant labor force, prime location, and good urban infrastructure.
CEO of Vector Fabrication (USA) Luong Van Quang said the company has invested in a project in Da Nang hi-tech park with a total investment of $60 million. He said that Da Nang was selected because the city has many policies to encourage and support businesses, especially in the field of high technology, besides the city’s good infrastructure, developing seaport transport, and the human resource training institutions.
According to Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio, Japanese investors have invested in over 200 projects, with a total investment of $800 million.
Compared with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang has the advantage of competitive industrial park rental rates and abundant human resources. Japanese companies mainly invest in high technology and information technology, he said.
Digital transformation, development of high-quality human resources
Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh said that business surveys show that Da Nang still has some bottlenecks in the investment environment that should be removed to open up development resources.
To remove bottlenecks, Mr. Minh said Da Nang will focus on completing transport and urban infrastructure, accelerating the development of Lien Chieu seaport; and preparing sufficient land for industrial development, supporting industries, high technology and information technology to welcome international capital flows.
Other solutions include: strengthening digital transformation, perfecting the e-government model towards modernity, promoting transparency of information and data, and simplifying administrative procedures for businesses and people.
Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang said the city will continue to propose to the Central Government to supplement policies to encourage investment, especially conditions for forming a financial center and a non-tariff zone.
The city will prepare planning and infrastructure conditions to welcome investment capital, strongly improve the business investment environment, accelerate administrative reform and develop high-quality human resources.
In its development plan to 2030, the city aims to become one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia, and to be a center for start-ups, innovation, tourism, commerce, finance, logistics, high-tech industry, information technology, and supporting industries.
