The move comes following the local administration deciding to resume tourism activities on November 10 in a bid to gradually restore the local tourism sector and related industries after being severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for a long period of time.

The move will see Hoi An city reorganise various activities as of November 15, including "Pedestrian street and non-engined vehicle" and "Night Street", in addition to a number of tours of Hoi An ancient town, Thanh Ha pottery village, Tra Que vegetable village, Bay Mau coconut forest historical site, and the Cham islands.

Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, director of the city’s Center for Culture, Sports, Radio and Television, said the locality has now devised plans aimed at ensuring tourism safety moving into the new normal, whilst strictly complying with the city’s requirements of criteria for safe tourism services towards "green tourism" in Hoi An.

Furthermore, the city will host a series of travel schemes under the closed model for international tourists who fully meet immigration and medical quarantine requirements.

Most notably, Hoi An will offer a discount of 50% on the price of sightseeing tickets to destinations such as the ancient town and traditional craft villages, while also organising cultural and art activities and festivals in order to meet the entertainment needs of visitors.

Moreover, tourism businesses, accommodation facilities, and tourist attractions will also launch a range of promotional packages for visitors as part of the occasion.
