The police reported that over 2,000 school violence cases were discovered last year in Vietnam. However, only a few hundred cases were reported by the education sector.

After the exam cheating scams in four provinces were discovered, MOET’s leaders admitted that the questions on the high school final exam were difficult for students.

The Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) has vowed to improve the quality of teachers by setting up a minimum admission mark for pedagogical schools, but education experts do not think the measure will help. 

Despite sharp enrollment cuts, the number of teachers trained every year is still far higher than demand, as the Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) lacks control over hiring at the local level. 

As many as 352,000 students passed exams to enter universities in the first enrollment period, but only 242,000 students have turned up to start school, while 110,000 students have rejected the opportunity.
