Implementing the Project to propagate and disseminate the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard in the period of 2019 - 2023 approved by the Prime Minister on August 22, 2019, the Standing Party Committee, the Head of the High Command of Coast Guard Law directed the Council for Coordination and Dissemination of Law of the High Command of Vietnam Coast Guard to organizes compile and publish the "Legal Handbook of Vietnam Coast Guard" in 2020.

The Legal Handbook of Vietnam Coast Guard was published on May 27, 2020.

This handbook is compiled on the basis of adjusting and supplementing the content of the 2017 handbook of Vietnam Coast Guard in order to promptly update and provide new knowledge of Vietnamese law on sovereignty protection, ensuring security, order and safety at sea and the contents of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard 2018.

The handbook consists of 03 parts:

(1) Some provisions of Vietnamese law on the protection of the country and national sovereignty, sovereignty right, jurisdiction at sea;

(2) Functions, duties, powers and organization of the Vietnam Coast Guard;

(3) Some provisions of international law related to the operation of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

The "Legal Handbook of Vietnam Coast Guard" is an important and practical document to help officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard in searching, studying, improving legal qualifications, awareness and sense of law observance, professional qualification, profession and quality of work efficiency, well fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities.
