Hoang Tuan Minh has been an outstanding student at Nguyen Sieu School for many years. Minh's mother, Trinh Nga, said since a young age, Minh has been eager to learn about everything around him. Although he enjoys playing games, he never neglects his studies.

"Minh has a natural inclination toward research in technical fields, partially influenced and encouraged by his father," Nga said.

A few years ago, after Minh's father passed away from a severe illness, Minh found additional motivation to focus on his studies, deciding to follow an AI major. He realized that AI has existed even in the video games he played when he was younger.

With a strong interest in AI and a desire to study in an international environment, Minh concentrated on natural science subjects. Aware of the family situation after his father's passing, Minh was determined to excel academically to ease his mother's worries, set a good example for his younger brother, and follow his dreams.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, Nguyen Sieu School received several scholarship offers from three prestigious universities in Hong Kong (China) for the September 2025 enrollment, with six full scholarships from CUHK.

Driven by his passion and determination to pursue AI study, Minh applied for a scholarship at CUHK. "I always remember my teachers' advice, that I need to dream big and not fear challenges, to dare to compete for valuable scholarships from top universities," Minh recalled.

Minh prepared meticulously for each stage, from application submission and selection to direct interviews, ultimately earning a full scholarship (100%) for four years in AI at CUHK.

As a diligent and self-motivated student, Hoang Tuan Minh maintained excellent academic performance throughout his schooling. Not only did he achieve high GPA yearly, but he had excellent language skills (IELTS 7.5). He participated in various competitions, earning accolades such as a top finish in the 2024 International Chemistry Quiz (ICQ), a Bronze Medal in the Science and Technology Olympiad, and a Commendation Prize in a regional Physics contest.

The 17-year-old is also active in extracurricular activities, arts, and sports, winning awards in swimming, cycling, and basketball at his school. He is also a member of fundraising, environmental protection, and charitable cooking clubs.

Minh received scholarships from several prestigious universities in the US and Australia, but he decided to choose CUHK.

At home, aside from studying and doing housework, Minh plays the guitar as a means of self-discovery and introspection. "During my upcoming studies in Hong Kong, the guitar will be my companion, sharing the exciting moments of my student life," Minh expressed.
