VietNamNet Bridge - Working on a drilling oil rig of the Vietsovpetro offshore Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, two workers were suddenly hit by broken pieces of a helicopter propeller.
An Mi-17 helicopter on the oil-rig.
At noon on November 21, a Mi-17 helicopter of the Southern Flight Services Company carried workers from the Vung Tau airport to the RP3 – Dragon Oil Field oil rig of the Vietsovpetro. Due to strong winds, while making landing at the helipad on the oil rig, the helicopter propeller collided with the fence and was broken.
Two workers working nearby were badly injured by the debris from the propeller. A few minutes later the Southern Service Flight Company sent another helicopter to the oil rig to take the victims to the hospital in the mainland.
The Mi-17 is still on the oil rig for repair.
