VietNamNet Bridge - A report from Navigos Search, an executive search management consultancy service provider, found that in HCM City, healthcare tops the list of the 10 fields which offer the highest pay to mid-tier and high-ranking officers. In Hanoi, bank officials had the highest salaries.

In HCM City, consumer goods manufacturing, retail and finance & banking ranked third and fourth respectively. 

The highest pay in the 10 fields was between VND70 million and VND225 million.

In Hanoi, finance & banking was the sector that offered highest pay to officers in 2015. Mid and  high-ranking officers in the sector received VND100-200 million a month. Manufacturing and real estate officers were also listed among those who have high incomes.

Bizlive quoted sources as reporting that every Vietcombank officer expects a very high Tet bonus, which is equal to a five-month salary. With average monthly income of VND18.5 million a month, every officer of the bank will receive VND90 million in Tet bonus.

The high Tet bonus and monthly pay indicates that Vietcombank, one of the largest commercial banks, made big profits in 2015.

Many other banks also had satisfactory business performance last year after a difficult period. Their high profits were foreseeable as a series of banks reported profits after the first half of the year.

Also according to Navigos Search, the five industries which had the highest demand for workers were production, retail & consumer goods, textile & garment, finance & banking and information technology (IT).

However, there will be some significant changes in the labor force demand in 2016.  Pharmaceutical industry will have the highest demand.

Since the industry has been growing rapidly, pharmacy firms, both Vietnamese and foreign, will need more workers to serve their expansion plans.

Vietnamese companies need many mid-ranking personnel to boost sales, especially the sale of functional food. 

Meanwhile, foreign companies need workers for the posts of sales director, product directors and personnel in charge of technical issues. The demand is believed to increase also because of more merger & acquisitions (M&A).

IT and telecommunication firms are always in need of workers. A report from VietnamWorks, a recruitment agency, released in late 2015 found that Vietnam would need 1 million IT workers by 2020.

Meanwhile, Zing News quoted a report from Robert Walters as saying that logistics and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) would be eager for high-ranking personnel in 2016.
