A video circulating on social media has sparked controversy, showing a Ho Chi Minh City traffic police officer speaking harshly and using profanity toward a young woman during a roadside stop.

Viral clip sparks public outrage

On February 9, a video surfaced online, drawing widespread criticism over the behavior of a traffic police officer. The incident is believed to have occurred in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the clip, the officer is seen engaging with a woman suspected of a traffic violation. However, instead of maintaining professionalism, he repeatedly raised his voice and used disrespectful language, addressing her in an aggressive manner with phrases like:

"Are you deaf or what?"

"Do you understand Vietnamese?"

"Are you messing with me?"

He even used profanity during the exchange.

In response, the woman is heard saying:

"Let me ask my friend."

"I need to call a friend to borrow money..."

Authorities respond to public concerns

After the video went viral, many viewers expressed outrage over the officer's conduct, calling for an official investigation and disciplinary action for violating the ethical standards of law enforcement.

Initial reports suggest that the incident took place on the evening of February 7 near the Nguyen Van Linh overpass in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. The officer involved is reportedly from the Tan Tuc Traffic Police Team, under the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department.

In response to public concerns, the Traffic Police Department has ordered the Tan Tuc team and the officer in question to submit a report for further verification and disciplinary review.
