The director of the city’s department, Bui Ta Hoang Vu, said the city would welcome two large MICE groups consisting of 4,000 people in May alone.

MICE and waterway tourism would be promoted next year, he added.

The city welcomed an estimated 6.38 million international visitors this year and earned some VND116 trillion in tourism revenues, up 22.8 per cent and 12.6 per cent from last year.

The number is expected to rise to 7.5 million next year, he said.
