Phong receives the certificate of merit from a representative of the HCM City People's Committee.

At about 3pm on May 12, Phong took a Cambodian family from the Windsor Plaza Hotel in District 5 to the Vincom Center in District 1.

Shortly after the passengers left the car, Phong received a notice from the operator that a passenger had forgotten the luggage in a cab of Vinasun Taxi, which operated on Phong’s route. He checked the car and found one black bag on the back seat.

5pm the same day, Phong returned to Vincom Center to hand over the bag to the Cambodian passenger, named Lim Nemo. There were $10,000, two iPads , ATM cards and a wallet in the bag.

The HCM City authorities highly appreciated Phong’s honest action, which contributes to improving the images of HCM City’s taxi industry and friendly tourism in the eyes of foreign visitors.

Phong said simply: "Returning missing assets to passengers is the responsibility and obligation of every taxi driver. It is the true action that every driver should be taken seriously."
