This proposal was submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, with the corporation committing to mobilizing optimal resources to execute both projects efficiently.

Can Gio Bridge project
According to the preliminary feasibility study, the Can Gio Bridge project will begin at 15B Road (as per the city’s master plan), approximately 500 meters north of Muong Ngang Canal. The bridge will connect to Rung Sac Road, about 2.1 kilometers south of the Binh Khanh Ferry Terminal.
The project spans approximately 7.3 kilometers and will include six lanes (four for motorized vehicles and two mixed-use lanes).
With an estimated total investment of $443 million (converted from 11.087 trillion VND), the project includes $89 million (2.228 trillion VND) for land clearance costs. The bridge is proposed to be developed under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model, with the city's budget covering approximately 49.63%, while private investors contribute 50.37%.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025 and be completed by 2028.
According to the Department of Transport, the Can Gio Bridge will establish a new direct connection between Can Gio and the southern part of Ho Chi Minh City, improving the area’s overall transportation network.
Additionally, Can Gio District is home to a 2,870-hectare coastal urban tourism project and an international transshipment port with an estimated investment of over $5 billion, both approved by the Prime Minister. As a result, traffic in the region is expected to increase significantly.
Thu Thiem 4 Bridge project
The Thu Thiem 4 Bridge, as outlined in the preliminary feasibility study, will connect Thu Duc City with District 7. The starting point will be at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh Street and the Tan Thuan 2 Bridge access road (District 7). The bridge’s endpoint will connect to Nguyen Co Thach Street at the R4 intersection (Thu Duc City).
The entire project spans approximately 2.16 kilometers, including:
Main bridge length: 1,635 meters
Access roads on both ends: 525 meters
Design: Six lanes (four for motorized vehicles and two mixed-use lanes)
The total estimated investment is $241 million (converted from 6.030 trillion VND), which includes $12.8 million (320 billion VND) in interest expenses. The government will contribute $113 million (2.826 trillion VND), accounting for 49.5% of the total (excluding loan interest), while private investors will cover $115 million (2.883 trillion VND), or 50.5%.
Once completed, the Thu Thiem 4 Bridge will significantly reduce travel time between Thu Duc City, Binh Thanh District, and the southern districts of Ho Chi Minh City, including Districts 7 and 8, as well as Nha Be and Binh Chanh. It is expected to ease congestion on major routes such as Ton Duc Thang Street, Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Khanh Hoi Bridge, Huynh Tan Phat Street, and Nguyen Van Linh Street.
