On the morning of October 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR) launched an intensive "50 days and nights to complete Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) for official operation in 2024" campaign.
Metro Line 1 is Ho Chi Minh City's first urban railway line. The project has mostly completed construction and equipment installation, as well as driver and operational staff training. According to directives from government leaders and city officials, the project must finalize all requirements for formal operation by the end of 2024.
Speaking at the event, Phan Cong Bang, Head of HCMC Urban Railway Management, stated that from now until December 20, MAUR and Metro Line 1 Co., Ltd. must complete a large, complex workload, addressing unresolved issues. This will require close collaboration with central agencies and city departments.
"Never before have we needed such collective effort, unity, creativity, and urgency from all employees and staff as we do now," Bang emphasized.
On behalf of MAUR, Bang initiated the high-intensity 50-day push to ensure Metro Line 1 enters operation in 2024.
The effort prioritizes completing all remaining tasks with a focus on thoroughness, accountability, and a continuous, round-the-clock work schedule, including weekends.
