The show is geared to attracting young classical lovers who are sure to enjoy the New World Symphony (Symphony No .9 in e minor) which was composed by Antonin Dvorak.
Dvorak (1841 - 1904) was a Czech composer of Romantic music. He wrote in a variety of forms but his nine symphonies generally stick to classical models. He also worked in the newly developed symphonic poem form and the influence of Richard Wagner is apparent in some works.
The work is by far Dvorak’s most popular symphony, and one of the most popular in the romantic repertoire. Neil Armstrong took a recording of the New World Symphony when he became the first man on the Moon in 1969.
Thach is currently the principal conductor/Director of HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera. He gained the state recognition of Meritorious Artist in 2007.
Admission is free. Tickets will be delivered freely at HCMC Student Supporting Center at 33 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street and the Opera House at 7 Lam Son Square.
