VietNamNet Bridge – A French jazz concert featuring the Fabien Mary Quartet will be held at the French Cultural Centre, L’Espace, on April 24.
The event is within the framework of cultural programmes to commemorate 40 years of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties.
Fabien Mary was born in 1978 in Normandy, France, and is nowadays regarded as one of the most gifted and sought after trumpet players in France.
At the age of 34, he has already played and/or recorded with a long list of acclaimed musicians such as Johnny Griffin, Michel Legrand, Diana Krall, Harold Mabern, Steve Turre, Wynton Marsalis, Preston Love, Archie Shepp, Benny Golson, Baptiste Trotignon, Steve Williams, René Urtreger, and Stephane Belmondo.
He has published three albums and is now preparing to produce a fourth.
Before arriving in Hanoi, the Fabien Mary Quartet will perform in Ho Chi Minh City on April 23.
